A four-man motorcycle crew was on the road in the Salzkammergut (Upper Austria) on Wednesday. In Steinbach/Att. an Ennser (63) crashed into the guardrail and was thrown over it. He died in front of his friends.
A 63-year-old from Enns went on a motorcycle tour with three friends on Wednesday, coming from Gmunden via the L544 Großalmstraße to Steinbach. He was second in the group when he overtook the man in front of him on a slight left turn at around 12:15 p.m., just before km 20.4 of the road.
Thrown over the guardrail
It then struck the right-hand guardrail, grazed it and hit the guardrail again, causing the engine to hurling it over the guardrail and coming to rest. His friends immediately set the rescue chain in motion. Due to the serious injuries, the 63-year-old motorcyclist tragically died at the scene of the accident.
