Two half-brothers – asylum seekers arrested after bloody stabbing

Wild scenes: Two half-brothers (23 and 24 years old) are said to have attacked each other with knives on Thursday evening in Haslach (Upper Austria). The elderly man was taken to hospital covered in blood and then fled the hospital. Eventually, both were arrested.

Only the two wounded know exactly what happened: two asylum seekers from Afghanistan living in Haslach. When questioned, they later stated that they had been attacked by an unknown third party. So far, the police have not found any clues about the mysterious perpetrator. She therefore currently assumes a bloody dispute between the two half-brothers.

Cuts to the face, stab to the neck
The two – 23 and 24 years old – would have injured each other with a knife around 8:30 p.m. on Thursday evening. The eldest suffered cuts to the face and the younger brother a stab wound to the neck.

Bloody escape
After the wild argument, the 24-year-old fled to the market square covered in blood, while his half-brother chased after him. Visitors from an outdoor dining area came to help the elderly injured man. When the police arrived, they immediately arrested the 23-year-old and his brother, who was injured in the face, was taken to hospital in Rohrbach.

However, the Afghan did not stay there long: after outpatient treatment, he fled the hospital – but was arrested shortly afterwards by a police patrol.

investigations are underway
During the interrogations, the two young men stated that they had been attacked by an unknown perpetrator. The investigation is ongoing.
