After the tragedy surrounding the missing submarine “Titan”, the families left behind speak out for the first time. They thank the international sympathy and the search forces.
The family of Pakistan-born business magnate Shahzada Dawood, 48, and his 19-year-old son Suleman, both British citizens, said in a letter: “Our beloved sons were aboard the OceanGate liveaboard ‘Titan’. Please keep them in your prayers, praying for the departed souls and for our family during this difficult time of grief.”
“We lost him in what he loved”
The family of adventurer Hamish Harding, 58, who also died in the accident, wrote in a letter: “He was one of a kind and we adored him. He was a passionate explorer – whatever the terrain – and lived his life for his family, for his business and for the next adventure. What he has achieved in his life has been truly remarkable, and if we can take any small comfort from this tragedy, it is that we have lost him in what he loved.”
