A terrible accident happened in Graz on Friday morning: a 25-year-old woman from Upper Austria who was cycling was run over by a truck and died.
Shortly before 11:30 am, a 58-year-old truck driver from Graz drove a fully loaded concrete mixer on Rembrandtgasse to the north. He wanted to turn right into Elisabethstrasse and stopped his vehicle at the stop line (stop sign).
A 25-year-old from the district of Steyr-Land (Upper Austria) with a second home in Graz rode her bicycle past the stationary truck on the right and stopped at the stop line parallel to the truck at the intersection. When the truck driver turned right, the 25-year-old was hit by the truck and rolled over. The truck driver’s breath test was negative.
