There has been a traffic jam of ten kilometers on the southeastern tangent of Vienna (A23) since Friday morning. The reason for this is a defective truck and two other accidents.
For drivers, this meant a loss of at least 45 minutes, according to ÖAMTC mobility information. A traffic jam arose from ten o’clock, the cause was a faulty truck between the Stadlauer and Hirschstettnertunnel in a northerly direction. During the transport, the A23 was closed and two more accidents followed in the traffic jam area.
Busy morning traffic
Around 12:00, a traffic jam of ten kilometers had already formed in the north between the Favoriten district and Hirschstetten. That does not resolve so quickly in busy Friday traffic, says ÖAMTC traffic expert Harald Lasser.
