A Carinthian, who allegedly killed his partner in Styria in May, has now awakened from the coma, confirmed the head of the Leoben public prosecutor’s office, Thomas Mühlbacher. The 24-year-old is suspected of suffocating the woman. Then he allegedly crashed into a bridge railing to commit suicide.
“He says he has no recollection of the crime,” Mühlbacher said. Now you have to go the normal criminal way, “then we’ll see how it went”. This requires several expert opinions, including a psychiatric and a forensic expert.
The suspect allegedly suffocated the 22-year-old on May 4 and then drove away. The investigation began after the man caused a car accident on Schoberpass Straße (B113) between Trieben and Rottenmann (Liezen district).
The suspect was in a coma for weeks
He became unresponsive after the accident, was flown to the LKH Graz with the rescue helicopter and put into artificial deep sleep. When the police arrived at the victim’s apartment, the officers found the Carinthian’s partner dead on the couch.
