A hybrid vehicle deployed numerous firefighters in Tyrol’s Zillertal on Saturday night: After a small fire broke out in the car, the emergency services came in – but the fire had already been extinguished by itself. The car was then towed away. When unloading at a workshop, the car suddenly caught fire again!
Shortly after 1:30 a.m., the Schwendau volunteer fire brigade was alerted to a vehicle fire in front of a residential building. A small fire broke out in the hybrid car, but it went out on its own. “After an extensive check, the car was then towed away,” said the emergency services.
The fire department made the right decision
To be on the safe side, the fire service eventually accompanied the towing service to the workshop, which turned out to be the right decision. “During unloading, the vehicle suddenly caught fire again on the tow truck. Spread to the truck can be prevented.”
The Ramsau and Schwaz fire brigades were immediately alerted with the E-Brand container. The underside of the hybrid car was cooled until it arrived.
Cooling in the container
The hybrid vehicle was finally loaded into the e-brand container, where it will remain refrigerated for another 72 hours. In addition to the fire brigade, the ambulance and the police were also on the scene. The operation ended around 06:30.
