District head Hageneder ordered the immediate evacuation of all residents of the approximately 65 buildings in the threatened area.

At around 9:40 p.m. on Tuesday evening, a caller reported an explosion in a residential area in Ansfelden. Ten fire brigades immediately arrived on the scene. In addition, there was a large contingent of police and rescue was on the scene.

Smoke from residential area
According to eyewitnesses, light smoke rose from the stricken settlement. Meanwhile, more and more emergency services arrived one after the other. At around 11 p.m., an evacuation of the affected residential area was finally made in the room.

A specialized company had already carried out deep drilling in a single-family home in the afternoon. This resulted in a water leak, which also caused gas to escape. After calling the fire department, an explosion occurred in a neighboring property, injuring one person to unknown degrees.

This caused a house to catch fire. The danger of the gas leak was apparently so great that the emergency services ordered a large-scale evacuation.
