Before the financial future of Carinthia was examined on Thursday, the Court of Auditors checked the 2022 budget. The reaction of the opposition parties was not long in coming.
Just in time for the session of the state parliament on Thursday, where everything will revolve around the 2023 budget, the Court of Audit has scrutinized the 2022 annual accounts of the state of Carinthia. First the good news: for the first time since 2019, we managed to achieve a positive net result – i.e. more revenue than expenses – and to reduce financial debt from 3.62 billion to 3.57 billion. In addition, Carinthia has been “average” in terms of creditworthiness since 2022. In 2021 the verdict was still: “Enough”!
