The 13-year-old from Linz was probably on his way to school when he was suddenly hit by a car. Now the doctors at Kepler University Hospital are fighting for his life.
That happened: the boy walked Thursday morning in the Ebelsberg district of Linz. At around 07:30, he crossed Florianer Straße – at a red traffic light, witnesses later reported. And then the accident happened: a 40-year-old from Linz drove his car out of town and there was a serious collision.
The driver behaved in an exemplary manner, provided first aid together with passers-by and called the emergency service. Emergency room and paramedics took the 13-year-old to Kepler University Hospital. The student is now in the pediatric intensive care unit. In the afternoon, the teenager was still in mortal danger, the hospital “Krone” learned.
Portuguese hit by car in Pregarten
A second serious accident involving a pedestrian occurred in the Mühlviertel. A 51-year-old Portuguese crossed the village square in Pregarten on Thursday evening and was hit by a car. The driver escaped and the injured Portuguese had to be taken to hospital.
