Post Emergency – Drunk (84) Disabled Rescue Helicopter

Date:

Emergency services had to act quickly on Wednesday in a medical emergency in Weiz (Styria). But an 84-year-old disabled the team with first aid. It even delayed the launch of a rescue helicopter. The man appears several times.

Shortly before 1 p.m., rescuers and police were deployed to Weiz following a medical emergency. Police officers ordered the rescue helicopter “Christophorus 12” to land on the football field of Krottendorf. Immediately after landing, an 84-year-old man from Eastern Styria suddenly approached the helicopter.

rescue operation hampered
The man was told to stay away from the helicopter, but that didn’t stop the 84-year-old from continuing to approach the helicopter crew and complain that he had landed there despite the nearby hospital. After much insistence, the man decided to leave. However, when rescuers returned to the rescue helicopter with a patient, the 84-year-old approached him again. He scolded wildly about the excessive number of rescue workers and also insulted the officials. This eventually even led to a short start delay. Only after a few minutes and repeated requests did the 84-year-old reluctantly leave the field.

Alcohol test positive
During the subsequent check, he therefore refuses to provide his data. The man has been reported on suspicion of disorder and decency, among other things. In addition, officers prohibited the man from continuing his journey and temporarily confiscated his driver’s license and car key after an alcohol test showed moderate alcohol consumption. In that respect, too, administrative sanctions await him.
