No chance at life – 365 days solitary confinement for police dog “Billy”

Date:

Assistance dog “Billy” must suffer terribly: he has been leading a sad existence behind bars for a year. With no outlet or contact with other dogs and no chance of ever getting out. The Belgian Shepherd is classified as a “murderer” and the police now face a life or death decision.

There were early signs of the drama. When “Billy” started training as a service dog as a puppy three years ago, several officers from the police service dog unit wondered if the male had the necessary qualities, a “Krone” insider reports. “Billy” showed insecurity, was highly skeptical of men, and easily stressed.
