Macron actually wanted to travel to Germany on Sunday for a three-day state visit, the official visit program should start on Monday.
Violent riots have broken out in France in recent days after a 17-year-old boy of North African descent was shot dead by a police officer during a traffic check in Nanterre on Tuesday evening.
In France, 79 police officers were injured and nearly 1,000 people arrested in renewed rioting on Saturday night.
