With a blood alcohol level of 2.72, a man in Vienna-Ottakring threw random objects out of his window on Friday evening. When police arrived on the scene, the 30-year-old greeted them with a knife. A second knife was also involved. However, the drunk did not defend himself against the arrest.
At 9:15 p.m., 911 was called to say a man was going on a rampage and throwing objects out the window. He would also have insulted his neighbours.
Greet police officers with knives in hand
When police knocked on the door of the 30-year-old’s apartment, he opened the door with a knife in his hand. The officers asked the man to drop the knife, after which the 30-year-old approached the officers.
Drunk took out second knife
After further requests to drop the knife, he complied, but took another knife from his pocket. After initially approaching officers again, he dropped the knife and officers temporarily arrested the 30-year-old.
He violently resisted arrest by attempting to elbow the police officers. By order of the Viennese public prosecutor, the man was set free.
