The unrest in France is spreading. During Sunday night’s riots, a mayor’s house in the Parisian suburb of L’Haÿ-les-Roses was attacked. The family was sleeping at home at the time. Rioters rammed a car into the house and set it on fire, the shocked father said, adding: “My determination to protect and serve the republic is greater than ever. I will not back down.”
Vincent Jeanbrun, mayor of L’Haÿ-les-Roses, expressed his outrage at this “new level of terror”. “My house was robbed and my family was killed,” he tweeted. His wife and one of his children were injured.
