The alarm level increased almost every minute late Sunday evening: a haystack on a farm in Pöndorf was on fire! A total of 15 fire brigades attended the large-scale action.
At around 9 p.m., the fire alarm went off. Moments later, the highest alert level three was declared. In the district of Vöcklabruck – in Pöndorf near the border with Salzburg – a farm had caught fire.
“At least part of the agriculture is completely on fire,” confirmed the order of the state fire brigade of the “Krone” late in the evening.
No injuries for now
The good news: according to information from the Red Cross, no one was initially injured. However, the rescue team remained on site to provide immediate medical assistance in the event of an accident during the dangerous firefighting activities.
At the time of going to press, the operation was still ongoing.
