The upper Gurktal, the Feldkirchen area, places in the districts of Villach-Land and Klagenfurt-Land are particularly affected. In Arriach, 21.5 millimeters of precipitation was measured within an hour, in Villach 34.3 millimeters. It hailed in the valley as well as in Feldkirchen.
It should remain dry for the rest of the night on Wednesday. Wednesday, July 5 should also remain rain-free for the first half of the day. Later, showers and thunderstorms could form over Carinthia, the meteorologists said.
Due to the heavy thunderstorms in Klagenfurt, the central of the professional fire brigade was reinforced and the FF Hauptwache was put on standby.
