The Provincial Council of Bizkaia will subsidize from 1 October from 2022 travel along the AP-68 with a monthly spending limit.
Already registered people and new users who register with Interbiak can benefit from a specific spending limit of EUR 34.55 per month on their transit along the AP-68 in Bizkaia and EUR 50.54 per month if they use the Araba section.
The Deputy for Infrastructure and Territorial Development, Imanol Pradalesannounced at a press conference on Wednesday that processing of the grant decree will begin next week, which will be limited to routes on the AP-68 and independent of the existing spending limit for the AP-8, Variante Sur Metropolitana and Artxanda tunnels.
The deputy has assured that it is a measure that will have a direct impact on the wallets of people who regularly use the AP-68 on their trips for work, study, etc. “Someone who works, for example, in Vitoria-Gasteiz and nowadays lives in Bilbao, pays 253 euros per month, and with this measure they spend 85 euros, in this case about 2,000 euros in savings per year,” he explains.
Moreover, according to Pradales, it is a measure that promotes equality and territorial balance in Bizkaia. The Provincial Council estimates that the annual amount of subsidies for the spending limit will be five million euros and that up to 18,000 users living in Bizkaia can benefit.

The requirements are exactly the same as for the current spending limit: be living in Biscay and natural person have a BLE or VIA-T with which toll has to be paid and have it linked to it a single registration
“This point is important, only one vehicle can be registered in the system to take advantage of the spending limit. In addition, in order for the trip to be considered mixed traffic and take advantage of the spending limit that includes the part of Alava, the origin or destination. in Bizkaia, and register in the system by going to the Interbiak offices or through the website interbiak.bizkaia.eus.
People who have already registered with Interbiak to take advantage of the spending limit on the AP-8, Supersur and Artxanda Tunnels should not re-register; A message will be sent to them allowing them to be automatically registered in the new spending limit for the AP-68.
