Good luck to two children at Lake Traunsee in Upper Austria. A drunken skipper is said to have approached the two little ones and narrowly missed them because they were just able to swim away.
On Tuesday, a boat driver was reported at the Traunsee who drove too close to the bathers in the coastal area and steered the boat despite being under the influence of alcohol. At around 5 p.m., the 59-year-old from Linz met the Gmunden city police. Since they could smell alcohol on the man, they asked the Gmunden police for help.
Clinical research conducted
During the official act it turned out that the boat driver would have approached two swimming children and just missed them because they swam away from him.
However, the on-site alcohol test could not be performed on the boat driver, so he was taken to hospital for a blood test and clinical examination – that is where the disorder was finally diagnosed. He is now reported by the public prosecutor’s office in Wels and the BH Gmunden.
