A truck may have slipped on a steep, snow-covered freight road near Dachgrub in the municipality of Neustadtl/Danube. This caused the garbage truck to fall down an embankment. Trees stopped the truck and it ended up on its side. The accident left a 50-year-old man trapped under the truck.
Accident caused one death
With the help of a crane, an outside anchor and a lifting bag, the alarmed Florianis managed to free the man from under the garbage truck. He died on the spot from his serious injuries. The emergency doctor could only determine that the victim was dead. According to initial information, the driver of the truck was uninjured. He receives psychological care.
Difficult to use
Three fire brigades, an emergency doctor, an ambulance and the district manager were called to the scene of the accident. The police were also on site. After the arrival of the Florianis, a fire brigade also had to be deployed with a crane vehicle.
The rescue was difficult due to the snowy, steep and narrow road. The recovery of the garbage truck is still in progress.
