A woman in South Carolina died while walking her dog. Police reported that the 69-year-old had been attacked by an alligator. She was found motionless near a golf course on Tuesday morning (local time).
According to police, the woman was walking her dog early in the morning when an alligator suddenly appeared and attacked her. Because the animal kept appearing, emergency services could not reach the resident. When the gator was safely removed from the area, only the woman’s body was recovered.
The woman was said to be beyond help. The body must now undergo an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death. If it really was an alligator attack, it would have been the second fatal attack in Beaufort County in less than a year. It wasn’t until August 2022 that an 88-year-old was fatally injured by an alligator attack.
