Great excitement on Thursday evening in Ried in the Tyrolean Oberinntal! An initially unknown perpetrator aimed at two guests in front of a bar with a gun that looked deceptively real. After they fled into the restaurant, the landlord raised the alarm with the police. The suspect, who had been drugged and intoxicated, was eventually found and arrested.
Shortly after 9 p.m., the 32-year-old suspect scared the two local guests outside. “The local resident brandished a deceptively real-looking stun gun and aimed it directly at the guests from about 20 meters away,” the investigators said.
Wirt made a distress call
They then immediately fled into the restaurant and informed the owner. The landlord immediately made an emergency call. The arriving police patrol eventually managed to catch the alleged perpetrator and seized the gun and a small amount of cannabis.
“Moreover, he admitted to having smoked a joint. The 32-year-old was arrested. He was already forbidden to carry weapons,” said the detectives.
Admitted to prison
A breathalyzer test among the local population was also positive. On the orders of the public prosecutor’s office, he was transferred to Innsbruck prison during the night hours. A total of four police patrols were involved in the operation. No one was injured.
