Detectives uncovered a thriving drug trade in Hartberg: Two young men are suspected of selling various drugs, mainly to young people. The two known suspects are now in custody.
The drug trade is said to have been going on for some time in Hartberg and now the police have let the dealers go. The 17-year-old Romanian and the 19-year-old from the Hartberg-Fürstenfeld district were arrested. They are suspected of having sold marijuana, ecstasy (ecstasy) and cocaine for a profit to numerous young people from the region. The 17-year-old was apparently acting on behalf of the 19-year-old. The deals mostly took place in the apartment of the older suspect and in the surrounding area.
50 buyers investigated
So far, police officers have already investigated more than 50 customers. The exact amount of narcotics put into circulation has not yet been determined. During the house searches, the agents seized small quantities of marijuana, 42 ecstasy tablets, mobile phones and various narcotics.
The suspect caused an accident
In the course of the investigation, the officials were also able to clarify a hit and run allegedly caused by the 19-year-old the same day before the arrest. The man was driving near Bad Waltersdorf with a stolen license plate and without a valid driver’s license and slid into a ditch for unknown reasons. The vehicle would also have overturned. The driver fled, but vehicle parts found at the scene and a lost license plate led to the 19-year-old.
Only partially known
Both arrested persons with relevant criminal records only partially confessed, they were transferred to Graz-Jakomini Prison. Further investigations are underway.
