On Sunday afternoon, an autogyro – a small aircraft with two seats – crashed into Lake Constance in Vorarlberg for unknown reasons.
Attentive witnesses rushed to the scene of the accident around 3 p.m. to rescue the two occupants from Germany with their private boats as quickly as possible. The water police, fire brigade and water rescue were also on site at the accident. Fortunately, all occupants were unharmed.
The autogyro had taken off from Friedrichshafen Airport in Germany and crashed into the lake off the mouth of the Bregenz Aach.

It is still unclear how the flight accident could have happened. The autogyro is currently at a depth of about 35 meters and must be recovered as soon as possible, according to the police. The investigation into the case is ongoing.
