A 19-year-old driver was killed in a traffic accident in Gründau in the German state of Hesse last weekend. For unknown reasons, she left the road to the left and collided head-on with a tree. The car caught fire and almost completely burned out. The young woman was returning from a graduation party.
The trapped driver was unable to free himself from the wreckage. Although emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene and tried to save the young woman, the driver could only be found dead, according to police. The courageous helpers were in shock and were cared for by emergency pastorate.
No evidence of alcohol consumption
To clarify the cause of the accident, the public prosecutor’s office called in an expert. The police have no indications of alcohol or drug use.
