A 68-year-old hiker from Linz probably fell over a 20-meter high wall in Upper Styria on Sunday and died. The man was alone in the Pyhrnpass and Angerkogel area in Styriaover Austrian border area on the way. When he did not return in the evening, his brother alerted the emergency services.
An overnight search turned up nothing. They found him in the morning Upper Austrian finally dead in the Weißenbacher Mauern area.

Officials from the Windischgarsten Police Inspectorate had found the 68-year-old’s car at the Pyhrn Pass, which is why the search had started there. The Kirchdorf Alpine Police, the Spital/Pyhrn mountain rescue service and a police helicopter from Vienna were involved in the search in Upper Austria. The Liezen Mountain Rescue and the Alpine Police were on duty in the Liezen area.
