The fire service has once again been rushed to help animals in need. The fire brigade of Föderlach was able to free two magpies from a chimney on Monday.
“The concerned resident had been hearing noises from the fireplace for hours and suspected an animal was inside, but she couldn’t do anything herself, so she called us,” says the Föderlach fire brigade. Two firefighters immediately drove to Förderlach to check.
After opening the door of the chimney on the ground floor, two magpies could be seen. They must have fallen down the chimney. The birds were carefully removed from the chimney and cleaned of soot in the open air with water. Then the two animals flew away visibly relieved.
