Shortly before the start of the NATO summit, Russia attacked Kiev with drones on Tuesday night, according to Ukrainian sources. The military government said it was the second airstrike on Kiev this month.
The strike with Iranian-designed drones caused minor damage and destroyed any air targets detected in the direction of Kiev. Wreckage from the drones has been found in the region of the Ukrainian capital, according to the Interior Ministry. Windows and building components of homes were damaged.
According to the local government, the port city of Odessa was also attacked during the night. Air defenses were activated, it said. Air raid sirens were also reported in the regions of Mykolayiv, Kherson, Kirovograd, Poltava, Sumy and Kharkiv.
