The singer of the British alternative rock band Placebo vented his anger on the country’s prime minister during a performance in Italy: Brian Molko showed his knowledge of Italian and described Giorgia Meloni in the local language as “racist, fascist”. He found some harder words for the Fratelli d’Italia politician…
The freak happened during the band’s first tour of Italy. Placebo was performing at Sonic Park in Stupinigi, near Turin, when Molko took the stage to express his opinion of Meloni.
“Your Giorgia Meloni. Racist, fascist, a piece of Sch… Nazi, fuck you,” he sang to his audience of about 5,000 fans, who responded with applause and enthusiastic roars. He underlined his remark with a clear hand gesture at the end.
The carabinieri, who were on site during the performance, informed the prosecutor’s office of the incident, reported TorinoToday, to verify it.
Molko threatened the audience in Warsaw with canceling the concert
Artist Molko is not exactly known for his restraint when it comes to his opinion. A few months ago he panicked at a performance in Warsaw because many of the audience had filmed the concert with their mobile phones – although he had previously told the audience not to do so as it interfered with the band’s performance and was also disruptive for the other visitors. Molko then stopped the performance, briefly left the stage and came back smoking a cigarette. In harsh words he explained that the concert will not take place unless the mobile phones go away. A threat that apparently was crowned with success: the performance could finally continue in a more relaxed atmosphere.
