After a fall of a height of ten meters, rescue workers in Trentino in Italy are fighting by time and unfavorable weather conditions. An Austrian climbing duo came on Monday in a life -threatening situation on the infamous steep wall of Monte Brento when one of the alpinists crashed and sustained serious leg injuries.
The Alpine Rescue of the Trentino is used by the evacuation of two Austrian climbers in Monte Brento in the Trentiner Sarca Valley. One of the two alpinists crashed about ten meters on Monday, crashed into a rock wall and drew up various injuries, especially on the legs.
His companion then warned the Trentiner Alpine Rescue, as reported in a press release on Monday.
Helicopter cannot reach an accident
The emergency call center called for the use of the helicopter, while some mountain rescues left to reach the two climbers from the valley. The helicopter brought the area mistakes, located the alpinists and discovered that it was not possible to reach them because of the wind.
In the meantime, the wounded climbers were able to abseil over two ropes and therefore reached a better supported area of the wall.
RESCUE -Unit runs
The rescue units, three climbing specialists and a paramedician of the Trento Monte Bondone station of the Trentiner Alpine and Speleological Emergency Services have now been able to approach the Austrians.
The two must be accompanied by a point from which they can be taken on board the helicopter. The rescue operation will take a few more hours, the rescuers said.
