A man was driving his car on Hallegger Strasse in western Klagenfurt when a tree suddenly crashed into his car. The hood was ripped open and pushed against the windshield.

“He was very lucky. He was able to free himself and was not injured in the accident,” reports the Klagenfurt professional fire brigade, which carried out the rescue together with the Wölfnitz fire brigade. A 30-year-old woman in the Twimberger Graben on Packer Straße also escaped alone with a fright.

“Due to the prevailing heavy rain, a 15-meter-tall tree fell over the road and onto the car,” police said. “Fortunately, the young woman was not injured.” The tree also damaged the crash barrier and had to be freed by the fire service. Until then, the accident site was completely sealed off. In addition to the police, the FF Twimberg, Frantschach and Theißenegg came into action.
