ELA denounces the “nationalization” of the working conditions of the employees of the large clothing chains

The union has declared a strike day in the major clothing chains in the Basque Country with the highest incidence in Álava. Similarly, ELA has concentrated in Madrid, coinciding with the first meeting of the trade unions and the employers’ organization ARTE.

ELA has concentrated in Madrid and they have come together strike in the major textile chains of Euskadi against the nationalization promoted by the employers ARTE. The incidence of the strike has been particularly noted in the Álava shopswhere, among others, Oysho, Bershka, Zara home, Intimissimi, Woman secret, Mayoral, Tezenis, Cortf, Spf or Pepe jeans are closed.

The trade union center carried out these demonstrations that coincided with the first meeting of the trade unions and the employers’ organization ARTEconsisting of major clothing store chains, held in Madrid.

ELA has signed that is behind this initiative Indextogether with other large chains such as H&M, Primark and Mango, which together form the employers’ association ARTE and with the aforementioned agreement”intends to disclose the working conditions of Hego Euskal Herria“.

The trade unions ELA, CIG and OSTA have denounced that they “want to worsen the provincial agreements of the textile sector with the nationalization”. For this reason, these trade union centers have concentrated in Madrid and ELA in Euskadi has declared a strike in the large clothing chains of Euskal Herria.

ELA has denounced ARTE’s claim centralize collective bargaining through “a single state agreement, leaving the workers who provide services in these large chains outside the provincial agreements”. According to him, this initiative will entail the “loss of labor rights” for the workers of Hego Euskal Herria.
