He real Madrid announced this Monday the decision, adopted by the Board of Directors to be held on the same day, to appoint Jose Martinez Pirri new honorary president of the white entity.
Pirri, who played for Real Madrid for 16 seasons, between 1964 and 1980, was one of the legends of the merengue team, where he won ten Leagues, four Cups and one European Cup in the 417 games he played.
Before signing for the white team, Pirri played one season at pomegranate and after leaving the club, he moved to Mexico to finish his career by playing two seasons in Puebla.
The proposal of his honorary presidency, as the club communicated, will be put to a vote on Assembly General membership of the club.
Before Pirri, they were honorary presidents of Real Madrid alfredo di stefano (from November 5, 2000 until his death on July 7, 2014), Paco Gentothat from 2016 to 2022 (died on January 18 of that year) and Amancio Amaro, which was between 2022 and February 21, 2023, when he died.
