Four years in prison – Routine traffic control led to weapon discovery

Date:

A German was stopped at the border with a veritable arsenal of weapons in his car and set the track to Austria in the far-right rocker scene – where weapons, ammunition and war material worth 1.5 million euros were eventually seized.

It is the largest find of weapons in Austria in recent years: 35 long guns, 25 submachine guns, 100 “normal” war material and thousands of cartridges were seized. A big blow to the motorcycle crime “Bandidos” – associated with the extreme right environment.

Twelve pistols and revolvers
A 40-year-old German man got these searches started in farms, brothels and apartments in Lower and Upper Austria. What the police found in his car during a normal traffic check resembles an arsenal of weapons: he drove across the border at Simbach am Inn with six submachine guns, six revolvers and the right ammunition. This routine check eventually led to the huge find in Austria.

The suspect is silent about the why and where from
The German is now sitting before the regional court in Landshut, Bavaria – and is silent. Before the Grand Chamber of Trial, he does not answer why or whereabouts requests. All he admits is that he had the pistols and revolvers in his car. He no longer has to serve four years in prison for importing weapons of war or possession of weapons and ammunition.

In Austria, six men between the ages of 32 and 65 from the neo-Nazi rocker scene have been detained since June 26 because of the weapon discovery. Large quantities of weapons, war materials, Nazi articles and illegal drugs were seized from them.
