The investigation is in full swing after a car went up in flames in Großpetersdorf (Burgenland) in the night. 13 hours before the arson attack, a suspect was spotted who apparently took pictures of the car as it drove past the parking lot.
The shock runs deep! On the night from Friday, July 14 to Saturday, a 22-year-old from Großpetersdorf had to witness – as reported – how her car went up in flames in front of the apartment.
Ripped out of sleep
She and her two daughters are already in bed. “At 10.40 pm I heard a noise in the street, it sounded like breaking glass. When I looked out the window, the roof of my car was already on fire,” said the shocked owner.
Strange sighting
Out of sheer excitement, she first alerted the emergency services and then the fire brigade. According to the car owner, no one was near the crime scene at the time of the arson attack. But later, the 22-year-old recalled that she had already made a strange observation on the morning of July 14.
The suspect took pictures
A man drove past her car parked in the parking lot and allegedly took pictures of the small car with his mobile phone. The researchers are now following this “hot” lead.
Arguing about money as a motive?
The suspect is a man who is close to the woman. A dispute over money could be a possible motive. Special officials were on site on Monday. You cannot rule out that the perpetrator used a fire accelerator. A sniffer dog is now deployed.
