Date:

Large-scale action for the fire brigade in the Ennstal: On Monday, a fire broke out in the early morning hours in a waste plant in Oberhaus (district of Liezen) in Styria. Eleven fire brigades were deployed and the fire was quickly brought under control. Fortunately no one was injured.

After the heavy storm operations of the past few days, eleven fire brigades in the Schladming section were alerted to a major fire around 5:30 am on Wednesday. According to the Liezen fire brigade, a fire has broken out in a waste sorting plant in Oberhaus.

“Largest room hit”
“When the emergency services arrived, one of the sections was already completely on fire and the fire had already spread to the roof construction. The largest hall in which bulky waste was stored was hit,” the fire brigade reports.

It was possible to prevent the flames from spreading to a nearby biomass plant. The Florianis had the fire under control in less than an hour. The cause of the fire is still unclear.
