The police in the German state of Brandenburg and Berlin are warning the population about a ‘big predatory cat’ that has been on the run for hours. The emergency services have been looking for the animal since midnight, possibly a lioness.
“Please do not leave the house because of an escaped wild animal in the Kleinmachnow, Teltow & Stahnsdorf region and also bring your pets home,” the police in Brandenburg write in a tweet. A little later it was announced that the warning had meanwhile been extended to the south of Berlin. According to information from the newspaper “Bild”, the big cat has already killed a wild boar.
Police: ‘Already seen, but could not catch’
It is still unclear where the animal came from. However, it is not missed by any zoo or circus in the area. A police spokeswoman told Spiegel Online that emergency services had already seen the wild animal, but had not yet been able to catch it.
