“Profiler” on assignment – Unsolved murder: Police need outside help

Date:

Who killed furniture mover Stefan M. in his apartment on Gabelsbergerstrasse in Salzburg-Schallmoos at the end of May? The detectives of the National Criminal Investigation Department have not really made any progress in this matter. That is why the police called in the well-known criminal psychologist Thomas Müller.

Müller is a “profiler” – the English technical term for case analysts. Müller has to analyze the perpetrator’s behavior and draw conclusions about his person.

At the end there should be a profile that narrows the circle of suspects. For lawyer Stefan Rieder, who represents the mother and partner of the deceased, this is an important step towards justice.

“Success proves him right”
“I hope for new investigative approaches and that the circle of possible perpetrators will be narrowed permanently,” said the lawyer. He was convinced of the value of Müller’s work. “The success in the Gorianstraße case proves him right,” Rieder alludes to another recent murder case. After the murder of Eleonore A. in Maxglan in the summer of 2020, the investigation was initially difficult. Until Müller advised DNA testing for the residents of the house. This soon led to the arrest of Josef K., a neighbor of the pensioner.

So far, neither hearing witnesses nor neighborhood inquiries have led to any findings in the current case. There is still no trace of the murder weapon with which M. was killed.
