About 200 people ran onto the tracks at Bremen to prevent a train from leaving. The reason for this was the waiting time for the next one. However, their performance caused even greater delays. Police are now looking for witnesses.
The mafia is said to consist almost exclusively of employees of the local logistics center that works for the online giant Amazon. When a train wanted to leave the station in Achim (Lower Saxony), about 200 people suddenly jumped out of the bushes and blocked the tracks, the federal police reported.
Mob probably wanted to go home together
According to a police press release, they would have wanted to ensure that everyone could still travel together on the same train after their shift. The blockers opened the doors and all boarded the regional express.
However, they didn’t save much time, none at all: while the next train would have left exactly 23 minutes later, the incident caused a delay of about an hour. A total of eleven trains were delayed by 249 minutes, according to the emergency services.
The police ask for information
When several police patrols arrived at the station, some people tried to flee – but with no success either: the identities of several people were found and investigations were launched against them. Police are now asking for information so they can catch other people involved.
