Four masked men attacked residents of a refugee shelter in the small town of Sebnitz in the East German state of Saxony. First they kicked in the back door of the house, then the men attacked an 18-year-old Afghan man and shouted racist slogans.
The quartet first entered through the back door of the house in the Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains district on Saturday evening, police said on Sunday. Shortly afterwards, two attackers pushed an 18-year-old Afghan citizen against a house wall. They also threw objects at him and a 16-year-old resident.
State security identified
According to the information, they shouted racist slogans. When more residents arrived, the attackers fled. The 16-year-old was unharmed, the 18-year-old had to be treated on an outpatient basis. According to the police, the background to the crime is still unclear. The state security of the Dresden Police, responsible for politically motivated crimes, investigates, among other things, dangerous bodily harm, insult and trespassing.
