A light aircraft crashed into the roof of a home in Austin, Texas, on Sunday. Engine problems led the pilot to make an emergency landing, which then went awry.
The light aircraft was en route to Georgetown Executive Airport when engine problems suddenly occurred. “The pilot wanted to use Northwest Boulevard as a landing option. I think the power lines are scaring him off,” said Fire Chief Scott Gibson.
Even though the emergency landing didn’t go quite as planned, the plane’s occupants were very lucky: all three escaped with non-life-threatening injuries. Fortunately, the house was empty at the time of the crash.
The authorities have launched further investigation into the course of the accident.
