The fire brigade and the Red Cross caused serious motorcycle accidents in Styria yesterday: two motorcycles crashed in Murau in the afternoon and in Mitterlimberg there was a collision between an electric cargo bike and a motorcycle.
At around 3:45 p.m., a 56-year-old was riding his motorcycle on the L504 from Schöder towards the Sölkpass. Suddenly, the mirror on the motorcycle hit an oncoming 39-year-old. He then collided sideways with the motorcycle behind her, which was also driven by a 56-year-old. The two men fell and sustained non-life-threatening injuries. They were taken by helicopter to the clinic in Klagenfurt. The 39-year-old was unharmed.
The Schöder volunteer fire brigade was deployed with ten men and three vehicles. The road was closed for about two hours.
Mitterlimberg: cargo bike against motorcycle
A short time later there was an accident in Mitterlimberg in the district of Deutschlandsberg: here a 53-year-old from the district of Deutschlandsberg drove her electric tricycle from Steyeregg to Ambrosweg. She stopped at the crossroads there and then turned onto the B76. At the same time, a 36-year-old from the Graz area was driving his motorcycle on the B76 from Wies in the direction of Schwanberg. The two vehicles collided.
The 53-year-old was injured to an unknown degree in the incident and was taken to Wagna Regional Hospital. The 36-year-old suffered serious injuries and was taken to the Graz regional hospital.
