Twelve fire brigades – emergency services prevent a major fire on the farm

Date:

It could have ended badly: Sunday afternoon a wheel loader caught fire in the service wing of a farm in St. Veit im Mühkreis (Upper Austria). Twelve fire brigades immediately arrived on the scene. “Fortunately, we had the fire under control relatively quickly,” reports commander Christian Wakolbinger.

Twice as happy: Neighbors noticed a significant smoke development in time and called the emergency services. That was around 2:40 PM. At that time, no one was probably home on the farm itself.

When the twelve fire brigades arrived, the wheel loader in the service wing was on fire. “He started to burn himself,” Christian Wakolbinger, fire chief of the Neufelden section, told the “Krone”. “A small piece of the roof truss burned, but did not burn through.” The Floriani had the fire under control quickly enough to prevent it from spreading to other parts of the farm or causing a full fire in the affected wing.

Fortunately, according to Wakolbinger, no one was injured during the operation.
