Residents of the Russian city of Belgorod report explosions. Photos of a damaged apartment building and a car on Yesenin Street are circulating online. According to an eyewitness, a drone would have been the trigger.
Telegram channel 112 reports that three apartments in a residential building have suffered damage. Another channel writes that several vehicles have also been affected. The Russian Defense Ministry has not yet commented on the incident.
High risk in Russia
Against the background of the Russian offensive war against Ukraine, military attacks and acts of sabotage are now increasingly taking place in the Russian border areas with Ukraine and to a lesser extent in other parts of Russia, including the capital Moscow. The country is therefore on a partial travel warning. There is a warning against travel to the administrative regions of Belgorod, Kursk, Bryansk, Voronezh, Rostov and Krasnodar bordering Ukraine. Austrians currently in this area are urged to immediately contact the responsible Austrian representative authority or the closest representation of an EU Member State.
