Cause unclear – explosion on Russian oil field: dead and injured

According to official sources, two people were killed in an explosion at an oil field in central Russia on Monday. The Interfax news agency reported that five others were injured.

A fire broke out on about 100 square meters in the Talinskoye oil field, it was said Monday night, citing the government of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District, which is located east of the Ural Mountains. It was initially unclear how the explosion could have happened.

Explosion also in Dagestan
A heavy explosion also took place in the Russian republic of Dagestan in the Caucasus on Monday evening for unclear reasons. A petrol station has caught fire in the capital of Dagestan, Makhachkala. As a result, according to initial findings, five people died and ten others were injured.
