It can go so fast: Neighbors reported on Tuesday morning that smoke was coming from an apartment in an apartment building in Villach and that the smoke detector had gone off. A teddy bear started a fire there.
The tenant of the Villach apartment did not know how the fire could have started. She opened the door for the firefighters when they arrived. “After further investigation, we were able to identify a golden teddy bear sitting in the bed lamp as the cause of the smoke,” said chief fire chief Alexander Scharf, platoon commander of the main fire station in Villach.
No injuries
Lucky with bad luck, because the stuffed animal was directly on the light bulb – and up to 217 degrees, it could have been even worse. Sharp: “The lamp with the remains of the golden cuddly toy was removed from the apartment and extinguished with a high-pressure pipe. The toxic smoke was blown out of the apartment by powerful fans. The material damage was therefore limited to the bed lamp.”
No one was injured. The main fire station in Villach, the FF Judendorf and the police in Villach were in action.
