Climate activists of the last generation have been drawing attention to the climate crisis in the streets of Austria for months by regularly standing in the morning traffic and protesting loudly. The police is also always on site to resolve the unannounced actions as quickly as possible. Arrests and subsequent lawsuits are the result. Now the activists are again asking for donations to continue to cover the high court costs.

“People of the last generation who stood in the way of or were involved in the destruction of fossils have increasingly had to answer for themselves in court in recent weeks and days. In doing so, various legal successes have been achieved,” explains the last generation in a press release.

“Excuse me
Complaints, such as coloring a fountain or protests on the Brenner motorway, which led to traffic jams, have occupied the last generation for weeks. Only in July did the last generation draw attention to the climate crisis by protesting in Vienna for three weeks. New arrests and reports were added daily. In May alone, there were a total of 166 arrests during the protests.
