Flames were already shooting out of the window when police and firefighters arrived. While the residents were not at home, a two-family house in Peilstein (Upper Austria) caught fire – probably from a laptop battery. The Florianis were able to prevent the fire from spreading to the roof construction.

An eyewitness saw the fire and called the fire department. They arrived at the same time as the police and immediately started putting out the fire. At that moment, flames were shooting out of the west-facing living room window, and the facade had already caught fire.
Preventing the fire from spreading to the roof construction
Quick intervention by the fire service prevented the fire from spreading to the roof construction. The FF Kirchbach gave “Brandaus” at 2.15 pm. A faulty laptop battery was determined to be the likely cause of the fire.
