The workers of the residences of Navarra are carrying out a new day of strike framed in the negotiation for the first agreement of the industry. In this way, Josetxo Sent, of the ELA union, stated that “it is time to move from recognition and applause to action”. This was stated before the demonstration organized by the unions in Pamplona ELA, CCOO, LAB and UGT under the motto “Recognize our work, now agree!”.

The unions have called for a strike at a time when the negotiation is “at a very distal point” between the parties, as “the employers leave little room for agreement and the government of Navarre is not sufficiently involved”.

Next Thursday, another meeting of the negotiating table will take place in which, “if the employers do not offer an agreement in favor of the almost 6,000 workers“, the unions do not rule out “more frequent” strikes.

As Mandado explains, the workers are asking for an agreement that will expire gradually very similar to the public sector, “because the same work, the same circumstances”. “This is a public service, although the government of Navarre refers to it as a private service,” he stressed.

The unions demand government of Navarraas holder of social rights, to be more involved in the negotiations and to finance the agreement.
