Not an everyday incident on Saturday morning at Hinterriss in Tyrol. A mountain biker was attacked by a courtship grouse. The man had to get off because of the animal and wanted to push his bicycle past. When he was already over, he was flown from behind by the capercaillie.
At about 10.15 am the local arrived on his mountain bike from Scharnitz over the Fereinsalm towards Hinterriss. “Because a capercaillie was courting on the way, he had to get off and push the bicycle past the animal,” police said.
flew to the hospital
When the pedal knight was already over, he is said to have been hit from behind by the black grouse, fell and suffered a serious shoulder injury. It was only after a long walk that the rescue team in Hinterriss could be called in and the athlete was eventually flown to the hospital in Hall in an emergency helicopter.
